Go McKae!

Bridger and I have been in Colorado for the past couple weeks visiting Honey, Big Fella, and Auntie McKae while Steve is home studying his brains out for his PE exam that he takes in less than a week. I was supposed to come home after staying out here for a week, but a couple days before I was supposed to fly home, Steve called and suggested that I stay out here for a little longer while he focused on studying. I think Bridger and I are a little bit of a distraction to Steve! We sure are missing him, and can't wait to see him in just a couple days!

I'd be lying, though, if I said we weren't having lots of fun being with all our fun family in Colorado!

Our trip started off by going to Grand Junction to watch McKae in her tennis tournament. Steve drove out with me, so that he could watch McKae too, and so I didn't have to drive out there alone, and just in case Bridger didn't do so well in the car. It was Bridger's first road trip and he did so great! It's about 3 1/2 hours to Grand Junction, and that baby hardly made a peep the entire way. He slept most of the ride over, and when he wasn't sleeping, he was smiling. While Steve drove back to Utah, I drove the rest of the way to Littleton with my parents. It's another 3 hours, or so, to my house, and Bridger slept the entire time. Not one sound. I'm telling you, Steve and I were blessed with an ANGEL baby!

Happy as can be in his carseat :)

We were supposed to leave later in the day on Friday, but I think Steve could tell I was a little anxious to get out there, so he arranged his schedule so that he didn't have to go into work at all on Friday. He is too good to me. Steve loves his surprises, so we decided to leave early in the morning on Friday, and let my parents continue to think we were leaving much later. Needless to say, they were pretty excited to see us (and by us, I mean Bridger, of course) right as McKae's first match of the tournament started.

Mama Donna and Papa Dick made this little banner for McKae! So cute!
My mom and dad got us a hotel room, and I was a little bit nervous about how well Bridger would sleep away from home, especially since he had been doing so well--8 or 9 hours! Well, Steve decided to make a nice, comfy bed for our little munchkin, hoping to mimic his bed at home, in the dresser drawer!

Well, it worked. He slept 9 1/2 hours. No big deal.

The night before we left for Grand Junction, I made Bridger Boy a little onesie for the tournament to surprise McKae. I think she liked it! It turned out cute, and Bridger got all kinds of attention because of it, of course!

It says "Auntie McKae's #1 Fan"

Dad wasn't so sure about the "Baby Legs," which are essentially baby leg warmers, but whatever, I think they look cute on his chunky little legs

Hey Dad--your birthday is coming up. Do you think they make "Grandpa Legs?" I'll start looking.

It was so much fun to watch McKae in her tournament. She did so great! She could definitely school me any day of the week! hmm, I think I need to start playing more. Watching all that tennis definitely made Steve and me want to get out and play more this summer. Anyone for a little doubles??

It was a fun weekend, and I'm glad Steve was able to come for even just a little bit of it.

More posts to come of the rest of the trip...although, most of the trip has been spent just staring at the baby.

2 Months

Where has the time gone? It seems like 2 months just flew right by and now my newborn is now a baby! Don't even talk to me about how soon it will be until he's a toddler. I just can't handle it.

Bridger is such a sweet boy! We love him so much, and love watching him grow and change. I love that he knows who we are, and smiles back when we smile at him. I love how he just has us wrapped around his little finger, and Steve and I don't seem to even mind. Life is so good!

At 2 months, Bridger:
-Is sleeping 7-8 hours at night (which means I am feeling GREAT)!
-Smiles and laughs, and is starting to coo a little, too, especially in the morning
-Loves to take baths (kicking and splashing is a new favorite, too!)
-Found his hand, and thinks it's a great sucking toy, although, is still not so sure about the pacifier
-Takes a bottle and formula like a champ
-Loves his vitamins and gas drops and even cherry flavored Tylenol (sick)
-Has a few extra rolls here and there, although, still pretty little says the charts
-Started blowing bubbles this past week :)
-Loves to ride in the car or in his stroller
-Follows Steve and me with his eyes, and notices when we leave the room

Bubbles :)

Stroll

Oh, it has been beautiful this weekend! Capri, skirt, t-shirt, and sunglasses, kind of beautiful. We are loving it! Bridger is too, although, the sun is something new for him, and I'm not sure how much he is loving how bright it is!

We finally got a stroller, on Friday actually, and decided to take it out for a spin. Bridger loves anything that moves. He doesn't like being put in his carseat, but as soon as we pick it up and start moving, he instantly stops fussing. And the car? Oh the car is even better. He falls asleep pretty much the instant the engine turns on.

The stroller was no exception. He loved it! I can see many more walks in the very near future, especially if they include little trips to the Creamery for ice cream :)

We are just praying the weather holds up. In fact, I think I'd better start praying for spring to come a little early this year!

(Thanks Mom and Dad for the stroller! My tired arms are grateful!)

Blessing

We blessed Bridger last weekend here in our ward in Provo, and we were lucky to have both sides of our family in town to help us celebrate! Mom and Dad and McKae's trip was a quick one: they came in late Friday night and left Sunday afternoon....I guess McKae needed to get back for school or something :) Paige hadn't seen Bridger Boy, so she flew in on Thursday night and got to spend all day Friday soaking up baby, which is pretty darn easy to do. I do it every day! It was so fun to spend the day with Paige on Friday. We did what we do best: SHOP and EAT! Taylor joined in on the fun, too. We went to Kneaders for breakfast, then headed up to Tai Pan and then to H&M do get me some clothes that don't have either a big elastic band around the tummy or spandex in the material.

I scored. And I loved it. Ahhh, it's good to be back!

Aunt Joett threw a fun baby shower for me on Saturday morning. It was fun to have Mom and all my sisters there, and also Laraine, too! I was so grateful that Steve's parents made the trip out here to support us, and to see their newest grandbaby. It was fun to be able to spend some time with them, too. Bridger got some pretty fun things at the shower, although he was a little too tired to care (he spend most of the shower sleeping). Lots of books, clothes, and toys! I can't believe he will be old enough soon to start liking books and toys. I am in denial. I don't want him to get any bigger!

His blessing day was perfect. PERFECT! My parents came over to help us get all ready (seeing as 8:30 church is a bit of a struggle!) We gave Bridger a little bath and then dressed him in his darling, knitted blessing outfit. We were so worried, when he was born, that he would be swimming in his blessing outfit, but not so! He fit in it perfectly, and looked so so cute all dressed in white.

He was such a little angel baby during sacrament meeting. He just slept and was passed from sister to sister, and then finally to Mom and Dad, I mean, Honey and Big Fella. The blessing was so sweet. Steve did such a great job. What a good dad he is to our little boy.

We love being Bridger's parents. We are loving every minute with him...even the messy diaper and fussy moments. He is such a blessing, and has brought so much peace and love into our home. Our Heavenly Father is truly watching over our little family.

Ahhh SLEEP!

This little mister has been sleeping so great these past few nights! Who knew that 5 and 6 hours IN A ROW would feel so good (for me of course)! Hopefully we have turned a corner, and this isn't just a little phase he's going through. Steve and I are both crossing our fingers...and toes!

(This boy has more hats than I can count! This bunny one is from his Aunties. So cute!)

Baby Bridger

Ok, so I guess since I'm now officially a mom, I need to start blogging a little more than say, once every couple years (and to be honest, it was Steve that did those two posts, not me!) I am going to be realistic though, and if I can get one post a month, then I think that's pretty good!
Progress is progress, right?

Lots of changes around here!

On January 14, 2012, we welcomed this sweet little boy into our family. It was an amazing experience and one that I won't ever forget. It was pretty amazing how instantly we just fell in love with him.
We can't stop kissing his little neck and face! He's just that loveable I guess.

Such a tiny little nugget!
Our Bridger boy is now ONE month old! Where has the time gone!?

At ONE month, our little Bridger is now 9 pounds and eating like a champ, obviously. His doctor was a little surprised shocked that he had gained that much weight that quickly. 3 pounds in a month, whaaa? What can I say, the boy loves to eat.

He is holding his head up, smiling, and is so much more aware of everything around him. He stares up at the lights all the time and my favorite, at me!

He has been such a fun baby, but holy moly, being a mom is a lot of work!
I'm lucky to get dressed and showered by 12 every day!

Do you blame me though? Wouldn't you rather be playing with this little mister?

Bridger Boy,
Stop growing so fast! I just can't handle it! You are such a sweet boy, and I am so grateful I get to be your mamma. You definitely have your dad and me wrapped around your little finger, and I don't mind one little bit. You have brought such a sweet spirit into our home. I love you so much!
xoxo, Mom
